Prioritizing Dive Safety

All dive centers are legally obligated to provide safe scuba diving experiences. This involves adhering to international diving standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.

All dive centers operated in Maldives has to be registered with the tourism ministry and follow the local regulations. It is also crucial to register with a recognized scuba training agency like PADI or SSI to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Registered dive centers are subject to monitoring and can face consequences for non-compliance.

Safe Diving Practices

Dive professionals must prioritize safety and follow strict safety guidelines. This includes conducting thorough dive briefings, selecting appropriate dive sites, and managing dive groups and buddy systems.

Hyperbaric Chambers

While scuba diving is generally safe, accidents can happen. In case of a diving accident, prompt access to a hyperbaric chamber is crucial. The Maldives has a few hyperbaric chambers located on different islands.

In the event of a diving accident, the nearest hyperbaric chamber is located on Kuramathi Island, approximately a 5-minute boat ride from Rasdhoo Island.

Please note: While the proximity of a hyperbaric chamber is a significant advantage, it’s still crucial to prioritize diving safety, follow proper dive practices, and have adequate dive insurance.
